Introduction (Need assessment for S&T Intervention in Project area) :
1. Sawai Madhopur district is predominantly the area of SC/ST, which is, comprises of 45% of total population.
2. Educational and technical institutions are not able to meet the need of people as per technical & educational standard is concerned.
3. Only one I.T.I. and one Polytechnic College is existed in the district, which are not equipped with all the trades, so that most of people learn such skill by the help of existing trained people.
4. Therefore they are deprived from latest technical development and knowledge and following only traditional practices. So the area needs more attention for S&T intervention in such trades.


Approved objectives of the Project:
To improve skill and efficiency of rural Schedule Caste & Scheduled Tribe persons who are engaged in traditional occupation or such persons who want to learn a new skill so that they are gainfully self employed. Project area (Block, Village & Total area covered) :
i) Sawai Madhopur Block & its villages
ii) Khandar Block & its villages

iii) Gangapur City Block & its villages
iv) Bonli Block & its villages

Methodology & Systems approach adopted:
(Survey, PRA Exercise, Community Mobilisation, Modulation & Diffusion, Objective wise achievements etc.)
1. To assess community need the survey was carried out and training were designed on felt need basis.
2. To mobilise community several motivational camps were organised in target area and communities to disseminate the aims and objectives of the project.
3. Interaction was made with technical institutions and public representatives, block level administration and NGO’s to identify technological aspects.
4. Selection of trainees was made according as per the need, time availability and educational / technical knowledge base.
5. Trainees were made acquainted with latest machine and equipments for work cost effectiveness like; Motor Winding machine, ara-tari machine. Presently most of work in Motor Winding & Jardoji and Needle Work executed by hands on traditional pattern. Demonstration of new technological aspects able to enhance the level of curiosity of learning.
6. Training components were based on the level of education and technical knowledge of target groups. Components were as follows-
